    • It’s something I’ve struggled with my whole life. I’ve had my moments but I wish I lived in it.

  2. I don’t want to see an iconic male character become a female role. A 007 woman sounds really unrealistic and silly. Why can’t women come up with their own iconic character?

  3. I don’t want to see a “female” bond. I want to see an original female spy franchise that can stand on it’s own. It doesn’t prove anything to place women in established male roles, pushing a message of “women can do it better”. It gives an impression of “If they COULD do better, they wouldn’t have to stand on the shoulders/foundation of established male characters”, and it doesn’t make the established character “genderless”. We need writers capable of writing REAL women. That doesn’t mean making films that must vilify most, if not all, men to make the female lead LOOK stronger/better. Hillary Swank has been in NUMEROUS films that represent TRUE female strength, so no one can tell me the potential for better female lead films isn’t possible. If “perception is reality”….(It isn’t)…women should focus on Hollywood directly, instead of making it a societal issue. The writers/directors are creating the mostly false “perceptions” of women in film. Start holding THEM accountable. Then real change can begin. Otherwise, you get more of the same.
