The Prodigal Son (A Powerful Life Parable)

Spread the love

Read by Shane Morris

The story of the prodigal son may be the most touching and best remembered of all the parables in the bible.

The essence of the story can be interpreted as this: YOU are the father.
Your older son is your intellect, trying to reconcile a prosaic and material world. The prodigal son is your audacity, venturing out into the world to find out what it’s all about.

In his recklessness and sense of adventure, the prodigal son finds that he can’t escape himself, so he has to return to himself; at which point he must accept who he is. The older brother fails to understand the significance of this journey.

In the end, you must leave yourself to fully understand the true value of yourself.
